This airplane appeared on the Channel 8 Morning Show and in The Restorers. It was designed for sport flying and is highly aerobatic.  The number painted on the tail is RD500, but its official registration number is N60CR.  In 1998, actor Richard Dreyfus bought the RD500 registration number from Charles Reed because he wanted it for his new Gulfstream 500.  The Smith's number was not removed or re-painted.
